The ordinance that created the Land Bank gave it the power to acquire tax delinquent properties at Sheriff’s sale. This power gives the Land Bank the opportunity to reactivate individual properties or to create assemblages that are more attractive for redevelopment.

Currently the Land Bank has identified eligible properties that would strategically advance the Land Bank’s goals. It is working with its partners in the Revenue Department, the Sheriff’s office and City Council to review these properties for potential acquisition.

The Land Bank does not yet have a process through which residents and businesses can request that a property be acquired and conveyed. That process is under development and should be available later in 2017.
